Dutch seniors are increasingly neglected by their own government when it comes to healthcare.
Long waiting lists for home nursing, rising out of pocket costs and cuts to elder care force many to move into institutions early or even to go without proper support.
What should be a dignified chapter of life has become a struggle for basic access, hidden behind the country's prosperous image.
Illustrating and learning
The assignment was simple in its challenge: design by doing. Just sketch after sketch, pages filled with rough hands and worried postures.
I really wanted to make it clear that the seniors were the victim of a system. But it's quite hard to show a policy failure in just one frame.
I started with drawings of just hands exchanging money but gradually moved to a scene where a senior has to overcome some kind of hurdle.
As part of the project we also added an AR-aspect to the poster, so to add a bit of an extra effect
